More than Meets The Eye : Transformers 25th Anniversary
Not counting advertisements, May 8th, 1984 was the first time the general public was made aware of the Transformers franchise. Over the next 25 years, the saga of shape-changing robots: the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons, has continued to reach new audiences around the world.
And one of my favorite webcomics, ShortPacked! offers an awesome salute here:

My problem with the show was always the Decepticons.
Who would ever have trusted anybody with that name?
