Boycott Rush Limbaugh Advertisers

Here is a list of advertisers to the Rush Limbaugh show. Drop them letters and emails to let them know that you will not support their businesses as long as Limbaugh is spewing his racist hate-speech and undermining President Obama's efforts to stimulate the economy.

Boycott Rush Limbaugh's Advertisers.

""Why, if it prosper...""

Ruth, at CabDrollery writes:

Something I have believed for some time now, that U.S. businesses sending wages abroad should not have the privilege to sell to U.S. salaried consumers, is part of a post by WaPo's Harold Meyerson today. He has discovered that the businesses that have globalized their businesses are using those earnings to lobby against our own domestic industry. (emphasis mine)

Quoting from a WaPo article, she noted that:

"A letter opposing "Buy American" provisions in the stimulus has been signed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Business Roundtable and several other such groups."

"Why, if it prosper, none dare call it treason"

Bacon Nation

Well, the conservatives are completely ahead of us on this:

bacon, Bacon Explosion, sausage, blogging
Take Bacon. Add Sausage. Blog.

By DAMON DARLIN

Published: January 28, 2009

The Bacon Explosion, modestly called by its inventors “the BBQ Sausage Recipe of all Recipes,” has swept the Internet.

...The Bacon Explosion posting has since been viewed about 390,000 times. It first found a following among barbecue fans, but quickly spread to sites run by outdoor enthusiasts, off-roaders and hunters. (Several proposed venison-sausage versions.) It also got mentions on the Web site of Air America, the liberal radio network, and National Review, the conservative magazine. Jonah Goldberg at NationalReview.com wrote, “There must be a reason one reader after another sends me this every couple hours.” Conservatives4palin.com linked, too.

The entire world united, bound by bacon.

Into the Gap

No, I haven't had anything to say about anything for nearly a month now. I've had too much on my mind in real life, and blogging was a time suck that I couldn't afford.

Hopefully this will guide me back to productive thinking.

But It's Different, This Time

A short photoessay from Hecate:

It's Always Some Little Girl, Looking All Alone, Surrounded By Grownups, With Her Hair Done Up. But It's Different, This Time.

...Today, two little African American girls traipsed off from one of DC's finest hotels to one of DC's finest schools. We routed traffic all around the city in order to make it happen (because George and Laura Bush are jerks.) And, for just a minute, I am proud of us. I am proud of how far we've come in just one lifetime. Go, America. You go, Girl. That was pretty cool.

I learn so much from Hecate every day and she just taught me again. I hadn't realized the significance of this until she pointed it out. Thanks.

Unnecessary drama, Part II

Unnecessary drama, Part I

Since some of you asked:

Turns out that my last conversation with the Dreadful Bear was just about the last one for the year.

I got a call from her the day before Christmas asking for some tech support on a "friend's" computer. Caller ID said that she was calling for a different phone...

"So," I asked, "who's this 'Harry Thorne' whose phone you're using?"

"Huh? Oh, nothing, nobody..."

Turns out that 'Harry' was the guy who came to pick her up from her aunt's house the day before. She hasn't been seen or heard from since then.

I suspect we will hear from her soon since her uncle is petitioning our state to have child support for the Little Empress turned over to him, and to have the DB sued for over a year of back child support.

This will be fun, he said, grimly.

Somehow Not Evil

Israel can try to justify this until the cows come home, but shelling civilians is fucking wrong.

I can't wait to read how dropping phosphorus is somehow Not Evil.

Please. Explain it to me.

Zune Fail

Normal Life recommences.... now.

Molly I.

If you haven't noticed, I think that I rather dote on my sweetie, the Red Queen. So when I got a 2GB iPod Nano from my old job as a bonus, she fell in love with it and confiscated it from me. (This happens rather frequently, actually.)

Until she noticed that 2GB wasn't enough space, so she fell in love with the Zune 30GB.

Until it turned out to be too large and heavy, so she fell in love with the Creative Zen 4GB. After I carried the previoulsly rejected iPod for a a year or two, I gifted it to my Oldest Daughter.

Which left me with the perfectly acceptible Zune 30GB. Which failed last week along with EVERY SINGLE ZUNE 30GB IN THE WORLD.

Which was kinda cool in an apocalyptic, Y2K kinda way.
